When President Trump first imposed tariffs on foreign goods, it sparked fierce debate—some saw it as bold patriotism, others feared economic fallout. As a Republican candidate for governor of New York and a believer in strong economic nationalism, I support the principle of tariffs as a strategic economic weapon. But here’s the truth: tariffs alone will not solve our nation’s manufacturing crisis. Without a plan at both the federal and state level, tariffs can backfire—raising prices, hurting small businesses, and damaging our global credibility.
This is not about being “for” or “against” tariffs. It’s about making them work for the American people—through vision, discipline, and action.
The Short-Term Benefits of Tariffs
Let’s acknowledge what the Trump tariffs got right:
Leverage Against China: Tariffs forced the Chinese Communist Party to face consequences for intellectual property theft and unfair trade practices. Raised Awareness: Americans woke up to the danger of depending on foreign supply chains, especially for pharmaceuticals, electronics, and steel. Initial Industry Boost: Domestic manufacturing in some sectors saw short-term gains as companies scrambled to avoid penalties.
These were necessary wake-up calls. President Trump recognized that economic warfare had already been declared on us—and tariffs were a long-overdue counterstrike.
But Here’s the Problem
The mistake was assuming tariffs alone would rebuild America. They didn’t.
Without synchronized efforts at the state and federal level, tariffs become a tax on working families and small businesses. The cost of imported goods rises. Retaliatory tariffs hurt our farmers. And our supply chains become tangled in red tape and uncertainty.
That’s why we must now finish what Trump started—by following up with real policy.
A 50-State Strategy to Back Tariffs with Action
If tariffs are to work, every state must play a role. Here’s what we need across all 50 states—starting right here in New York:
1. Statewide Manufacturing Revival Programs
Create state-level tax incentives for manufacturers who relocate or expand within our borders. Prioritize vocational education and skilled trade training in public high schools and community colleges. Launch Buy American state procurement policies—where taxpayer-funded projects use U.S.-made steel, tools, and tech.
2. Zoning and Regulatory Reform
Streamline zoning and permitting processes to fast-track factory development. Cut red tape and offer environmental fast lanes for clean-tech manufacturing.
3. State-Funded Innovation Hubs
Invest in state-backed research parks and advanced manufacturing incubators in rural and post-industrial areas. Focus on sectors where tariffs can spark growth—semiconductors, green tech, biotech, and defense components.
4. Job Placement and Workforce Development
Build public-private partnerships that train workers for reshoring companies. Offer state hiring subsidies for companies committed to hiring veterans, the formerly incarcerated, and those in recovery.
Federal Government Must Do Its Part
While states lay the foundation, the federal government must scale the blueprint. Here’s what Washington must get right to make tariffs sustainable:
1. A Clear, Strategic Tariff Map
Tariffs should be targeted, temporary, and tied to benchmarks. We need a National Tariff Commission to track outcomes and revise rates in real-time, not leave them on autopilot for years.
2. Domestic Supply Chain Reconstruction
Invest in logistics, infrastructure, and warehousing to build alternatives to foreign shipping routes. Provide federal grants and guaranteed loans for companies building domestic production lines.
3. Stop Picking Winners—Level the Playing Field
Don’t just protect steel or aluminum. Extend support to small manufacturers, farmers, and startups with new tariff-related relief programs. Establish a “Made in America Credit” for companies that reach 75% U.S.-based sourcing.
4. Trade Accountability from Allies
Use tariffs not just as a punishment—but as negotiating leverage to secure better trade deals with our allies. Rebuild strong regional trade agreements that reward North American and European cooperation while limiting CCP influence.
Case Study: What New York Must Do Now
As governor, I will lead New York in showing the country how a state can turn tariffs into opportunity:
Reclaim abandoned manufacturing zones and repurpose closed prisons as economic development centers. Use our Empire State infrastructure—airports, ports, railways—to become a global logistics hub for reshored industries. Establish the New York Reshoring Fund—public-private investment pools to bring manufacturing back upstate and into working-class communities.
This isn’t theory. This is a blueprint. And New York, once the Empire of industry, will rise again.
Tariffs Are a Tool—Not a Plan
We cannot let tariffs become the new talking point without the follow-through. They’re not the destination—they’re the starting line.
Tariffs done right:
Defend American jobs Protect national security Boost working-class opportunity
Tariffs done wrong:
Trigger inflation Alienate allies Punish the very people we aim to protect
This is our moment to choose wisely. We need more than slogans—we need synchronized reform across all 50 states and a federal government that finally puts America First with substance, not just style.
I support tariffs.
But I also support the hard work that must come with them.
Let’s keep it real. This next year is going to hurt.
You don’t walk 1,000 miles into a desert and magically teleport out. It takes 1,000 miles to walk back out.
We’re in it deep — economically, socially, morally. But we’re walking out of it. Short-term pain leads to long-term gain — and I promise you, it’s coming.
Once we get American industry back online… Once the factories reopen, the plants restart, and the jobs return… WE WILL THRIVE.
This is the Second Industrial Revolution. And it starts right here, in New York, with us.
Long live the American worker. Long live the Industrial Revolution.

Kathy Hochul dares to criticize the federal administration over tariffs and their impact on the working class — yet right here in New York, she’s been running the people into the ground with disastrous, self-inflicted policies:
Shut down or blocked buried natural gas lines, driving up energy costs. Closed clean, safe nuclear plants, increasing our reliance on dirty fuels and unstable grids. Congestion pricing – a tax on movement, punishing workers and families trying to get by. Zero progress on non-tribal casinos, stifling job creation and revenue streams. Public transportation prices soar, with no improvement in service. Taxes keep climbing, squeezing homeowners, renters, and small businesses. Forced multi-family housing in single-family suburban communities, destroying neighborhood integrity and local control. Small landlords crushed by rent control, while corporate real estate investors get loopholes. Crippling regulations on businesses, making New York one of the hardest states to operate in. Refusal to audit government waste, while demanding more from taxpayers.
Hochul talks like she’s on your side — but her actions say otherwise.
New Yorkers are not fooled. We need real leadership that respects taxpayers, protects communities, and restores opportunity.
The Starving Artist Starter Pack You haven’t known pain until you’ve tried explaining to your landlord that your rent is “conceptual.” Mona Lisa’s Smile? Trauma Response. Art historians call it “enigmatic.” We call it “I just spent $300 on supplies and haven’t eaten since Tuesday.” Modern Art = Therapy with Extra Steps That banana duct-taped to a wall? Symbolizes inflation. The $120K price tag? That’s your student debt in sculpture form. Gallery Openings & Wine Because nothing says I’m broken but bougie like discussing your inner turmoil over boxed wine and brie. Graffiti = The Original Cry for Help Every tagged subway train is a visual diary entry that basically says, “Capitalism ate my dreams and I have no health insurance.”
Art is pain. Art is protest. Art is… unpaid exposure gigs.
I wasn’t born with a silver spoon. I was born in the ashes — of addiction, of abandonment, of broken systems and broken promises. But I’m still here. And I’m not running from my past — I’m using it to run for your future.
This isn’t politics as usual. This is survival. This is truth. This is redemption with a mission.
I’ve watched too many people get silenced because their stories didn’t fit the script. Well, I’m not here for their script. I’m here to rewrite the whole damn book.
New York doesn’t need another puppet. It needs a fighter.
And every time they try to censor me, ban me, or cancel me — they make me louder.
TurnNYRed.us isn’t a slogan. It’s a battle cry.
This is for the forgotten. The falsely accused. The blue-collar patriots. The parents crushed by family court. The kids failed by our schools. The neighborhoods left to rot while politicians cash checks.
This is for everyone they told to shut up and sit down.
You are the movement. I’m just the messenger.
Let’s make New York free again.

The federal government has proposed restoring gun rights for non-violent offenders — and I’m here to say I fully support it.
If elected Governor of New York, I will push through a New York State Second Chance Act, ensuring that every non-violent offender who has served their time gets:
• Full restoration of their 2nd Amendment rights
• A complete criminal record expungement
• A real path back into society
HOW WE MAKE IT HAPPEN:
1. Automatic Expungement Process
After completion of sentencing and a proven clean record for a fixed time period (e.g., 3–5 years), expungement begins — no red tape, no endless waiting.
2. Restoration of Rights Review Board
Create a civilian-led panel that fast-tracks restoration of constitutional rights for eligible non-violent offenders.
3. Gun Ownership Education & Support
Re-entry programs will include gun safety education, mental health checks, and training for responsible firearm use — just like anyone else.
4. Ban Discrimination Against Expunged Citizens
Employers, landlords, and agencies cannot penalize expunged individuals under state law — period.
5. Community Justice Reinvestment
Funds saved from reduced incarceration and bureaucracy go back into job training, small business grants, and family reunification services.
WHY IT MATTERS:
Too many New Yorkers are trapped in a permanent second-class status for non-violent mistakes. If we say we believe in redemption — it’s time we prove it.
Everyone deserves a real second chance.
I’m Jason S. Arnold, and this is what I mean when I say Turn NY Red.
Every time we talk about cutting taxes, the establishment asks the same question:
“How will you pay for it?”
Our answer: Smarter government. Local revenue. Bold innovation.
Under Jason S. Arnold’s leadership, we will reform New York’s broken revenue model by replacing burdensome taxation with growth-driven, people-first policies.
OUR PLAN TO FUND FREEDOM:
1. Tourism-Driven Revitalization
• Coney Island 2.0 – Turn Coney Island into a regulated Vegas/Atlantic City-style attraction with casinos, boardwalk resorts, and 24/7 entertainment.
• Hudson Valley Wine & Culture Trail – A state-backed tourism corridor supporting local farms, vineyards, and artists.
• Upstate Outdoor Investment Zones – Encourage outdoor adventure tourism and private lodge development to create long-term revenue for rural communities.
2. Operation Ghost Town
• Lease vacant state buildings (jails, schools, and offices) to private organizations for use as:
– Trade schools
– Detox & rehab centers
– Veteran housing
– Small business incubators
– Homeschool & co-op hubs
• All lease revenue goes directly to education, mental health, and local infrastructure.
3. State Land Sales & Lease Auctions
• End foreign land ownership — reclaim and auction land to New Yorkers and veteran-owned businesses.
• Lease public lands for responsible development, with royalties reinvested in infrastructure and education.
4. Corporate Relocation Incentives (modeled after Texas & Florida)
• Attract out-of-state companies with zero income tax zones, low regulation districts, and workforce grants tied to hiring New Yorkers.
• Replace income tax with job growth, property value increases, and business license revenue.
5. Retail Sales Reform
• Phase out tax on groceries and essential goods, funded by expanding luxury and tourism sales tax in high-income areas.
• Encourage local manufacturing and “Made in New York” product lines to retain sales revenue in-state.
6. Efficiency Over Bureaucracy
• Slash bloated state agencies, duplicate services, and six-figure consultant contracts.
• Implement zero-based budgeting across all departments.
• End lifetime pensions for do-nothing bureaucrats.
7. Energy & Infrastructure Partnerships
• Allow limited private-sector infrastructure development with capped ROI.
• Open clean nuclear, hydropower, and localized solar to competition — creating long-term energy independence and public revenue.
OUR GOAL:
• Eliminate the tax on food.
• Begin the phase-out of NYS income tax.
• Restore local wealth without government handouts.
Other states have done it — so can we.
This isn’t about cutting services. It’s about cutting waste and empowering the people.
Vance Trump has privately admitted through direct messages that he did exactly what I’m accusing him of. He has since deleted those communications in an apparent attempt to avoid accountability for abusing this platform and targeting users—either because he dislikes them personally or opposes their political views.
This is not just harassment. It’s targeted political suppression and, arguably, election interference in New York. I’ve lost hours of work due to his actions. He should face consequences too.
By his own admission, he violated GETTR’s Terms of Service by intentionally targeting a campaign account for deplatforming. His actions were deliberate. If I committed any infraction, I was never notified by platform staff or given any official warning. What he calls a “warning,” I call coordinated targeting to silence and suppress.
I still have not received any explanation from GETTR regarding the ban. The only statement that exists is a public comment, which I’ve included below along with AI-assisted analysis to explain the context. It makes clear this was an act of harassment. To further illustrate this, Vance Trump followed my new account within seconds of its creation—without any public interaction—clearly monitoring me.
I regret having to make this public, but my campaign has already suffered publicly, and this is now the only viable path forward. No one seems willing to correct what has gone wrong.
I have documented everything I could. Even though posts and comments have been deleted, GETTR support can be compelled by the courts to produce all relevant communications and data should this escalate to legal action.
The choice is now in your hands: Will you protect a rogue user abusing their position, or will you stand for the principles of free speech and fair use on your platform?
This isn’t just about my campaign’s right to run for public office—it’s about the rights of every user here. Many of us joined this platform for exactly that reason: to speak freely.
Original Comment:
“(Supporter) don’t fall for jaynation_4547’s scheme and bullshit – Jay was banned for the same exact reasons listed above and much much more – I told Jay on my other account DJT47 (yes I have Jay blocked because I hate assholes who mouth off) if he didn’t stop he’d be banned and what he did was mouth off to me so I filed a report to my supervisor to have jay banned. Took awhile to get him terminated but he wouldn’t stop and there’s no coming back from this graveyard. If he keeps the spamming up with repetitive replies in…”
Analysis:
Tone:
Hostile and inflammatory: The use of profanity (“bullshit”, “assholes”) and personal insults indicates strong negative emotion—likely rooted in a personal grudge.
Boastful: The commenter appears to take credit for your ban, presenting it as a victory or punishment.
Vindictive: This is not just criticism; it’s a confession of intent to harm your presence on GETTR.
Intent:
Discredit you publicly by labeling your message as a “scheme.”
Justify your ban by suggesting you deserved it for “mouthing off.”
Warn others not to support or engage with you.
Establish dominance by claiming to have direct influence with a “supervisor.”
Key Takeaways:
Admission of misconduct: The user openly admits to orchestrating your ban for personal reasons—not platform violations. This could be useful in appealing or escalating the issue with GETTR or exposing cancel culture behavior.
Targeted harassment: This isn’t just a one-time insult—it’s an attempt to destroy your platform and reputation by any means necessary.
Manipulative tactics: By addressing a supporter directly, the person is trying to peel away your base using lies and intimidation.
Legal/Policy Implication (optional):
If GETTR has terms protecting users from abuse of the reporting system or targeted harassment, this message is damning evidence. They may have violated TOS themselves by weaponizing internal connections to “supervisors.”
Let’s hear from YOU! If New York had to vote today… Would your county go RED or BLUE? Drop your county name and your prediction in the comments! Let’s map out the future together.
